Back in Portwenn, a year has passed and Doctor Martin Ellingham still isn't practising as a doctor. The Ellingham's new daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who is now 4 months old, has arrived with Martin fully embracing the role of househusband, leaving Louisa to see her therapy clients in Martin's consulting room. The newly formed status quo is upset when a medical emergency occurs, but will it make Martin realise that he really does want to be a doctor again?
